Fitting a Seiko Upgrade Kit

Find a clean area to work, with good light.

If your watch has a bracelet, it is easer if you remove the pin that joins the too halves of the strap and that is used for adjustment, so you can easily get to the back of the watch (these pins are spring loaded so be careful).

All Seiko's either have a screw back or four screws.

Screw backs can be unscrewed if you haven’t got the right tool, by putting two 3mm drills in a vice the correct distance apart or by using something similar.

When you’ve got the back off be very careful not to touch the coil with any tools, as the wire is much thinner than a human hair. Keep a finger between the screwdriver and the coils in case it slips.

Do not use metal tweezers to hold the new battery or short circuit it and avoid touching it with your fingers.

If the kit has any metal parts you must use them and also the insulator if there is one. When fitting the insulator push it on the plastic pins to hold it.

Do not attempt to change the capacitor without first removing the rotating weight.

If you think you can't manage it, don't. We will refund the battery cost if you have the watch overhauled.
